Profile: Smiti Dhami is a spacecraft engineer with 12 years of experience, primarily in the Attitude and Orbit Control System (AOCS) domain. At Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), she contributed to AOCS design for different satellite projects including India's Moon and Mars missions. After moving to Germany, she contributed to the deorbiting operations of Europe's first meteorological polar satellite (Metop-A) in November 2021 at the European Organization for Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT). Whether it's observing the first telemetry received from the spacecraft during Launch and Early Operations Phase (LEOP) or it’s sending the last telecommand to the spacecraft during End of Life Phase (EOLP), Smiti is glad to have had the wonderful experience of being involved with satellites during different lifecycle phases.
