Girls and Women talking Tech Interview with UNOOSA Director Simonetta Di Pippo

On 2 October 2020, UNOOSA Director Simonetta di Pippo was interviewed as part of the Girls and Women Talking Tech Series organized by EQUALS Global Partnership on her experience as a female role model in the tech sector.

During the interview, the UNOOSA Director and Rachana Reddy Mamidi, Satellite Development Engineer at Berlin Space Technologies touched upon various points of concern regarding space sustainability and the need for more detailed regulation in this regard. The interview was nevertheless centring around the importance of women and girls pursuing a career in the STEM field to be vigilant about what they want to achieve.

Simonetta Di Pippo is an Astrophysicist who is now shaping international space policy and an international gender champion who is committed to achieving gender equality and breaking down gender barriers which can make it harder for women and girls to gain a foothold in the STEM field. During the interview, she gave some insights into her experience as the leader of an international organisation and a as a female role model.
