UNOOSA Space4Women Spotlight Session

Friday, 03 March 2023 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm

The theme for International Women’s Day, 8 March, 2023 (IWD 2023) is, “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality”, recognizing the contribution of women and girls around the world, who are championing the advancement of transformative technology and digital education, and exploring the digital gender gap.

To celebrate International Women's Day 2023, Vienna-based International Organizations (VBOs) will organize spotlight sessions to highlight the nexus between the mandates of their entities and innovation, technology, digital education, gender equality and the empowerment of women.

UNOOSA Spotlight Session

UNOOSA will present the nexus between space innovation and technology, and gender equality. The event will focus on UNOOSA's programme Space4Women by highlighting its different projects and their results. Speakers include participants of the Space4Women Mentorship programme that will highlight how their mentor-mentee relationship made an impact in their space journey. Personal insights will also be shared by participants of the Space4Women Experts meetings to highlight challenges discussed and opportunities emerged during such gatherings.
